Saharanpur, 20 January. Police recovered five bodies of a family, including a couple, from a colony in Sarsawa police station area of Saharanpur district on Tuesday morning. Giving this information, the police said that the bodies of Ashok Rathi (40), his wife Ajinta (37), mother Vidyawati (70), son Karthik (16) and Dev (13) were found in a room of a house in Kaushik Vihar Colony of Sarsawa police station area. Three pistols were also recovered from Amin.
Saharanpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ashish Tiwari told a news agency that this morning the police received information that a total of five dead bodies of one Amin and his family members were found in a room of their house in Kaushik Vihar Colony, Sarsawa. He said that as soon as the information was received, the police and forensic team reached the spot. The bodies of the deceased were found in the same room.
He said that three loaded pistols were also found next to the body of Ashok Rathi. Everyone, including Ashok Rathi, who was working as Amin, was shot on the head. Tiwari said that the bullet was fired from very close range. He said that the police is taking information about Ashok Rathi and his family and the CCTV camera footage of the entire area is being scrutinized. He said that all the three pistols recovered from the spot are country made and whether they are licensed or not is being investigated.
SSP, quoting the investigation so far, said that after the death of his father, Ashok Rathi had got the job of Amin in the deceased dependent category in his place and he was working on the post of Amin in Nakur tehsil. Both his sons were studying in class 10th and 11th. Police have sealed the house of Amin Ashok Rathi so that the investigation is not affected at any level. As soon as information was received about the recovery of dead bodies of five members of the same family, the forensic team including Saharanpur DIG Abhishek Singh, SSP Ashish Tiwari, SP Dehat Sagar Jain reached the spot and started investigating the case. All five bodies are being sent for post-mortem.
