New Delhi. A case of fatal attack on a journalist has come to light in Burari area of Delhi. The victim, journalist Ish Malik, told that three assailants riding a Bullet motorcycle overtook his bike and blocked the way and suddenly attacked him with sticks. After the incident, the victim somehow managed to control himself and called his family members and informed them. He alleges that the incident was immediately informed to the police, but no PCR van reached the spot for a long time. After this, the police reached the spot at around 12:30 in the night and recorded the statement of the victim. It is alleged that about 12 hours after the incident, FIR was registered under lighter sections.
Ish Malik told that before this incident, he had given a written complaint to the local police and informed them about the threats he was receiving from some anti-social elements. He had expressed apprehension that some untoward incident might happen to him, but the police did not take any effective action in time. The victim journalist said that if the police does not conduct a fair investigation and take strict legal action against the accused and appropriate sections are not added, then he will approach the higher authorities and the High Court for justice.
