Death of former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Khaleda Zia: mortal remains reached residence ‘Firoza’, will be given farewell with state honors.
Dhaka. A big chapter of Bangladesh politics has ended. Former prime minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chief Begum Khaleda Zia died on Tuesday at the age of 80. She was ill for a long time.

Final Farewell: On Wednesday, his mortal remains were brought to his private residence ‘Firoza’ in Gulshan, Dhaka. Here his family, close relatives and son Tariq Rahman (acting president of BNP) bid him a tearful farewell. In the pictures surfaced on social media, Tariq Rehman was seen praying near his mother’s mortal remains.
State condolence: The head of the interim government of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, confirmed the sad news. The government has declared three days of state mourning and one day of public holiday in honor of Khaleda Zia, who was the country’s three-time Prime Minister.
Namaz-e-Janaza: After the last homage, the process of Namaz-e-Janaza will be completed at his residence, in which a large number of supporters are likely to gather.
Khaleda Zia’s death is being considered as the end of an era for Bangladesh. There is a wave of mourning in the entire country remembering his political journey and contribution.
