Laapataa Ladies Oscar Nomination: The name of 'Laapta Ladies' has been officially selected from India for the 97th Oscar Awards. The Film Federation of India has decided to send it for the Foreign Film category. This year, many inspiring and futuristic films have been released. Not only this, films released in regional languages have also been very impressive. 'Laapta Ladies' also touched the hearts of the audience but people do not agree with its selection for the Oscars. More than that, people are expressing their displeasure over the reason behind the selection of the film of the Film Federation of India. The official letter of the Federation begins with the words 'Indian women are a strange mixture of submission and dominance.' Netizens are reacting to this. They believe that it is not right to write this and neither is this reason correct for selecting this film for the Oscars. Many people believe that there were better films in the list and it is beyond comprehension to choose this film leaving them. Till now only three films have been sent from India for this category

Let us tell you that the official entry from India to the Oscars is sent by the Film Federation of India. However, if the filmmakers wish, they can send their film to the Oscars as a private entry. So far, only three films have been officially sent from India in the foreign film category. These include 'Mother India', Salaam Bombay and 'Lagaan'. However, no Indian film has won any award in this category till date.

India's Achievement in Oscars

Kirwani received the Best Original Song Award for the song Natu Natu from R.R.R. While Guneet Monga-Karthiki Gonsalves won the Best Documentary Shot Film Award.
