Debit card related rules will change from April 1, these 2 government banks have announced, this service will not be available

Both Punjab National Bank and Punjab and Sindh Bank are included in the list of main public sector banks. Both have made major changes in the rules related to debit cards. Information related to this has been given through a notification on its official website. Users will no longer get the facility of free complimentary lounge access on PNB and all PNB Platinum Debit Cards.

This change will come into effect from April 1, 2026. Now customers will not get the facility of international and domestic airport lounge as well as railway lounge for free. PNB has also changed the rules of Rupay Select Debit Card, which will be applicable from April 15. Whereas PSB has not made any changes in any other debit card.

What are the current rules?

Currently PNB offers a complimentary domestic airport lounge facility on its RuPay Platinum Debit Card. Two international airport lounge facilities are available a year.

PSB currently offers one complimentary International Airport Lounge facility every calendar year. Domestic airport lounge facility is available at a cost of up to Rs 5000 in the last quarter. However, the bank offers a complimentary domestic lounge facility on POS and e-com transactions every quarter.

These rules of PNB debit card will be applicable from April 15

From April 15, the domestic airport lounge facility on PNB Select Debit Card will now depend on the expenses. Minimum spend in POS/eCom will be Rs 5,000 per quarter. Only after this, users will get the facility of complimentary domestic airport transfer in the next quarter. If a person spends up to Rs 5,000 from January 1, 2026 to March 31, 2026, he will get domestic airport launch access from April 15 to July 14, 2026.
