Declan Rice to miss Arsenal’s clash against Aston Villa due to knee injury
Arsenal will miss the services of midfielder Declan Rice for its key clash against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday due to a knee injury.
The Athletic reported hours ahead of kick-off that the defensive midfielder, who was set to fill in as right-back, will miss top of the table clash against Villa, which is placed third and is three points behind the Gunners.
Rice has started all 18 matches in the league this season for Arsenal, while scoring twice and assisting thrice.
The 26-year-old is the latest Arsenal player to suffer an injury with defenders Jurrien Timber, Ben White and Christhian Mosquera are all out injured, while left back Riccardo Calafiori remains doubtful.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will have centerback Gabriel Magalhaes to call upon from after the Brazilian returned from injury in the win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
