Decline in crime cases in the capital, most cases solved in 2025: Delhi Police data
According to the latest data released by the Delhi Police, many serious crimes registered in the capital in 2025 have declined compared to previous years, with most cases achieving a solve rate of over 90 percent. According to the Delhi Police, 491 murder cases were registered in 2025, of which 95.32 percent were solved. Of the 854 attempted murder cases, 98.13 percent were solved.
In 2025, this number decreased to 1326.
Robbery cases have also seen a steady decline. While 1,654 cases were registered in 2023, the number dropped to 1,326 in 2025. Of these, 97.51 percent were solved. Regarding crimes against women, rape cases have also declined. In 2025, 1,901 rape cases were reported, of which 97.11 percent were resolved. Furthermore, the 1,708 cases of molestation of women had a 95.20 percent resolution rate.
The solve rate of cases was 63.68 percent.
However, crimes like snatching and extortion remain a challenge for the police. In 2025, 5,406 cases of snatching were registered, of which only 64.22 percent were solved. The solution rate for extortion cases was 63.68 percent. Of the 337 cases of eve-teasing, 89.02 percent were solved, reflecting the police’s proactive approach to ensuring women’s safety in public places.
