5 eggs
2 teaspoons thyme
sea salt as needed
200 grams powdered breadcrumbs
5 cups water
300 grams mutton sausage
2 tbsp vegetable oil
150 grams flour
black pepper as required
Step 1 Boil the Eggs
Place a pan on high heat and add eggs along with water. After boiling, take out the eggs from the water with a spoon and carefully place them one by one in cold water for a while. When they have cooled, peel them carefully.
Step 2 Wrap the Eggs in the Meat Mixture
Take the sausages, chop them finely and chop the thyme leaves. In a separate bowl, mix the minced mutton sausage with the chopped thyme, oil, salt and pepper. Mix well. Wrap eggs in this mixture. Cover the bowl with cling film and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
Step 3 Coat the Eggs with Bread Crumbs
Take bread crumbs and put them in a blender jar. Grind them until they become powder. Now, sift the flour and powdered bread crumbs into two separate bowls. Take the eggs out of the refrigerator and roll them first in a bowl with flour and then in a bowl with powdered bread crumbs. Repeat this again so that the eggs coat both doughs evenly.
Step 4 Deep fry the eggs and serve hot!
Take a non-stick pan and add oil into it. Fry these eggs in a large pan on medium flame for 3-4 minutes until they are cooked well. When all the eggs are fried, place them on a tissue paper to remove excess oil. Now your deep fried Scotch eggs are ready. Serve them hot with dip of your choice.
