Deepika Padukone skips Dhurandhar 2 screening, attends sitar concert with in-laws; fans ask why can’t she support her husband Ranveer Singh’s film?’
If you are a music connoisseur, you must have come across the famous sitarist Rishab Rikhiram Sharma, a renowned musician who has brought Indian classical music back into the spotlight. Today, not just millennials, but Gen Z and even celebrities are eagerly purchasing tickets to his concerts. While we often obsess over Hollywood events, Rishab Rikhiram Sharma’s shows are drawing thousands of fans willing to spend Rs 25,000 or more for front-row seats. His music doesn’t just lift moods, it illuminates the atmosphere. He performs not only Bollywood melodies but also classical ragas and Shiv Sitarum, delivering a soothing and soul-stirring experience rather than a loud, overbearing sound.
Rishab Rikhiram Sharma’s concert has been aptly termed “Sitar for Mental Health.”
Deepika Padukone misses ‘Dhurandhar-2’ screening, attends a concert a day later, social media asks ‘Why’
On Friday, fans queued up to attend his magical performance in Mumbai, blending music and mindfulness. Bollywood A-listers, including Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur, Gauri Khan, and Soha Ali Khan, were among those in attendance.
Several photos and videos from the concert have gone viral. In the clips, Deepika Padukone looked graceful in a maroon-and-gold Anarkali, accompanied by her mother-in-law, Anju Bhavnani, and sister-in-law, Ritika Bhavnani. Tara Sutaria also turned heads in an elegant ivory saree paired with traditional jewellery, while Gauri Khan chose a golden outfit and even posed for selfies with fans. Gauri sat alongside Maheep Kapoor during the performance.
However, Deepika Padukone’s presence sparked massive online trolling. Many fans questioned why she was absent from the recent special screening of her husband Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, only to attend the concert in Mumbai the next day with her in-laws. Social media users criticised her for not posting anything about the film or praising Ranveer Singh, adding fuel to speculation.
One user wrote, “Deepika Padukone with her in-laws today at a private event in Mumbai. But did you guys see her watching Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge? NO!! Why can’t she support her husband’s film? Something is very fishy.”
Another commented, “Deepika wrote long paragraphs on Instagram about Gaza and JNU, but didn’t post a single story to congratulate Ranveer Singh and the Dhurandhar 2 cast. Speaks volumes!”
Other netizens linked her actions to political opinions and Bollywood rivalries, with some alleging she avoids upsetting SRK to secure future projects. Despite the online debate, three days after the film’s release on March 19, Deepika chose not to respond publicly.
During the blockbuster success of the first Dhurandhar film in December 2025, Deepika had actively praised both the movie and Ranveer Singh on social media. Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has shattered all box-office records.
