Delhi Airport Alert: If your journey is on these dates, then definitely check these timings before leaving home.
News India Live, Digital Desk: 26th January i.e. our Republic Day is going to come. The whole country is ready to celebrate this day. We all are excited to see the parade on the duty route of Delhi and the stunts of the Air Force planes in the sky. But, amidst these grand preparations, there is an important news for those who are going to travel by air between January 21 and January 26. A big update has come related to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) which can spoil your travel plans. There will be a ‘lock’ in the sky (Airspace Restrictions) In view of the security and flypast rehearsal of Republic Day, the airspace of Delhi will remain closed for a certain time. According to the instructions issued by the Airport Authority of India (AAI), there will be a ban on flights for a few hours on 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 26th January. When will there be a ban? If you understand in simple language, when the parade rehearsal takes place in the morning, then no commercial flight will be able to take off or land in Delhi. Usually this ban will take place in the morning. It will be effective from 10:00 am to 12:15 pm (or till 1:00 am). There will be no restrictions only on January 25, this rule will be strictly enforced on the remaining days. How will this affect you? If your flight time is between 10 am to 1 pm, then assume that your flight may either be canceled or rescheduled from past experiences. Let me tell you, there is a lot of congestion and confusion at airports these days. Many times flights are delayed by hours. Airlines have to change the schedules of thousands of their passengers. What should passengers do? (Advice for Travelers) There is no need to panic, just a little caution and planning is needed. Check the status: Before leaving home, check the live status of the flight on your airline’s website or app. Check the messages: Keep checking your email and SMS inbox, airlines often send reschedule information on message. Take extra time: If there is a connecting flight, then keep more time (gap) between the two flights because the first flight There may be a delay.
