Delhi Airport issued advisory for passengers, Indigo CEO said – it is difficult to start flights on time
New Delhi. Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has issued an advisory for passengers on Friday morning. It said that operational challenges have led to delays and cancellations of many domestic flights. Passengers have been asked to check the current status of their flight directly with the concerned airline before leaving for the airport.
According to the airport authority, flight schedules have been affected due to some technical and operational problems. In such a situation, for the convenience of passengers, special teams deployed at the airport are trying to normalize the situation in collaboration with airlines and other partners. Delhi Airport has said that its on-ground teams are working continuously to minimize the hassles faced by passengers and provide them a comfortable experience. The airport has appealed to the people to maintain patience and cooperation.
Officials also clarified that changes in flight schedules are possible considering the current circumstances. Therefore, it is very important to confirm the flight status from the airline’s website, mobile app or customer service before reaching the airport. Passengers have been advised to allow adequate time before travelling, arrive well in time to account for airport congestion and rely on official channels for information. The airport has also thanked all the passengers for their cooperation and patience.
On the other hand, the country’s largest airline Indigo canceled more than 550 flights on Thursday. This was the third consecutive day when passengers faced huge inconvenience due to massive flight cancellations and delays. IndiGo’s CEO has said that in the current circumstances it has become difficult to start flights on time. Teams are continuously working to overcome operational challenges, but it may take some time for the situation to return to normal. Due to cancellation of flights, there were long queues at the airport, constantly changing schedules and resentment among passengers. The airline has appealed to passengers to check the status of their flight before reaching the airport.
