Delhi airport issues Ebola advisory; Travelers from Congo and Uganda under health surveillance

New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport has issued a health advisory for international travelers following the recent Ebola virus outbreaks in Central Africa.

The precautionary measure comes amid ongoing Ebola cases reported in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan. Airport authorities are urging passengers to follow the guidelines and report any health concerns promptly.

Key Guidelines for Travelers:

Special monitoring is in place for passengers arriving from, or transiting through, affected countries.

Anyone experiencing symptoms such as fever, fatigue, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, or unusual bleeding should immediately notify the Airport Health Desk or a Health Officer.

Travelers who believe they may have had contact with the blood or bodily fluids of an Ebola-infected person must disclose this information before completing immigration procedures.
Symptoms appearing within 21 days of travel should prompt immediate consultation with a local doctor, along with a detailed travel history.

Authorities emphasize that these measures are precautionary, aimed at ensuring the safety of travelers and preventing the spread of Ebola within India.
