Delhi News: AAP’s question on E-20 petrol, Arvind Kejriwal got the experience by talking to people

Delhi News: Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday made a surprise visit to a busy petrol pump and service station in Delhi. The main objective of his visit was to know the opinion of the general public and motorists regarding the practical use of E20 petrol being promoted by the Central Government. During this, Kejriwal talked directly to the car and bike riders who came there to fill petrol. Along with this, he also met the people who had come to the service center to get their vehicles repaired and tried to know whether the new fuel had any impact on the performance of the vehicles.

Mileage is decreasing and problems are coming.

After talking to the drivers, Arvind Kejriwal made a big claim on the media and social media. He said that the ground reality is completely different from the tall claims of the government. Many people he met at the petrol pump told him that ever since they started using E20 petrol, the mileage of their vehicles has reduced considerably. Not only this, some bike and car owners complained that due to continuous use of this fuel, technical problems have suddenly started appearing in the engine and the maintenance cost of the vehicles has also increased.

Issue raised on social media

Immediately after this visit, Arvind Kejriwal shared his experiences on social media platform X. He wrote that what he saw and heard while visiting petrol pumps and service stations was worrying. These complaints of the public cannot be ignored under any circumstances. He clearly said that in democracy the voice of the people is supreme. If the common citizen of the country is troubled by any government policy or the quality of fuel, then it is the duty of the government to listen to their complaints seriously and find a solution to it immediately.

Raised demand for review

Aam Aadmi Party has also strongly supported Arvind Kejriwal’s stand on this issue. In the statement issued by the party, it has been said that complaints from consumers are coming from all over the country regarding E20 petrol. In such a situation, the government should get this entire matter reviewed on a comprehensive level. The party believes that it is most important to protect the interests of consumers before implementing any new changes. If the engines of vehicles are not compatible with this fuel, then why should the poor and middle class people of the country bear the brunt of it.

What is E20 petrol and the government’s logic?

Let us tell you that the Central Government is rapidly promoting ethanol blended fuel to reduce pollution in the country and reduce dependence on crude oil imports. E20 petrol means that eighty percent petrol and twenty percent ethanol is mixed in it. The government claims that this policy will provide huge benefits to the farmers of the country because ethanol is produced from sugarcane and grains. Along with this, the environment can also be saved from huge damage.

Experts’ opinion and the way forward

However, amidst these claims of the government, vehicle consumers and some organizations of the automobile sector have expressed concern about the reduction in mileage and the adverse effect on engine parts. At present, different parties seem to have different opinions in this entire matter. Technical experts believe that more in-depth study is needed to fully understand the real impact of E20 petrol. In the coming time, a concrete solution to this dispute will be found only after the advice of the vehicle manufacturers and the final report of the experts.
