Delhi Election 2025: 477 nominations canceled, final list of candidates to be released tomorrow

Delhi Assembly Election 2025: The nomination process for Delhi Assembly elections has ended. A total of 981 candidates have filed 1521 nominations for the 70 assembly seats of Delhi. Out of which 1040 nominations have been accepted. While 477 were rejected. Nominations of most of these covering candidates have been rejected.

A total of 1521 nomination papers have been filed by 981 candidates for the elections on 70 seats of Delhi Assembly. Out of which maximum number of candidates have filed nominations for New Delhi seat. The Election Commission has accepted 1040 nomination papers. Whereas 477 nominations have been cancelled. The final list of candidates will be released tomorrow. After which it will be known how many candidates will be in the fray for which seat.

29 candidates have filed nomination for New Delhi seat, the most high profile seat out of 70 in Delhi Assembly elections. Apart from sitting MLA and former CM Arvind Kejriwal, BJP has given ticket to Pravesh Verma, MP from West Delhi and son of former Chief Minister Saheb Singh Verma, while Congress has given ticket to former CM Sheila Dikshit's son and former MP Sandeep Dikshit. After New Delhi seat, 25 candidates from Matiala

25 candidates have filed nomination in Matiala. After New Delhi, 25 candidates have filed papers in Matiala and 22 candidates in Burari assembly constituency. It is noteworthy that Aam Aadmi Party and Congress have announced to contest elections on 70 seats alone. Whereas BJP has given two seats to NDA ally JDU and LJP Ram Vilas. Under NDA quota, Delhi's Burari seat has been given to JDU and Deoli seat has been given to LJP's Ram Vilas. Let us tell you that voting will be held on all 70 assembly seats of Delhi on 5th February. Election results will be declared on 8 February.
