Debate over ‘hanging house’ intensifies in Delhi Assembly, Arvind Kejriwal appears before the committee
Delhi News: Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal appeared before the Privilege Committee of the Delhi Assembly on Friday. This appearance took place in the context of the ongoing discussion regarding an old room built in the assembly complex. Kejriwal, while presenting his stand before the committee, said that this place is said to be of historical importance and study and investigation had been done on it earlier also.
What did Kejriwal say about the hanging house?
Kejriwal said that the Delhi Assembly building is very old and historical. According to him, this building was built at the time when the capital of India was brought from Kolkata to Delhi during the British rule. He told that in the year 2022, due to the efforts of the then Assembly Speaker Ramniwas Goyal, information about a part of this building came to light. During that time it was said that there was a room in one corner of the building which was earlier used as a hanging house.
Old room opened for tourists
According to Kejriwal, at that time information on this subject was collected on the basis of documents and historical facts. After this it was decided that this place should be opened for people and tourists, so that awareness about the history of the country’s freedom struggle can be increased. He told that on that basis the process of showing that place publicly was started.
Explained the background of the entire incident
During his appearance before the Privileges Committee, Kejriwal said that the decision was taken only on the basis of historical information available at that time. He told the committee that this entire work was done under the assembly leadership and administrative process of that time. Kejriwal said that he shared the information available with him before the committee and explained the background of the entire incident.
Everyone should work together on development issues
After the presentation, Kejriwal said that everyone should work together to solve the problems of Delhi and on development issues. He said that it is always important to share experiences and suggestions to improve the system of the capital. He also said that he has been the Chief Minister of Delhi for a long time and if suggestions are sought on any development related topic, he is ready to share his experiences.
AAP raised questions on security arrangements
During this time, another issue related to security also came up. Aam Aadmi Party alleged that there were some problems in the security arrangements of Kejriwal during his appearance in the Assembly complex. Party leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said that Kejriwal already has a high level of security and in such a situation, utmost care should be taken regarding the security arrangements.
What did Saurabh Bhardwaj say next?
According to Saurabh Bhardwaj, upon reaching the Assembly, the security personnel present with Kejriwal were stopped outside the premises, due to which questions were raised about the situation for some time. He said that in such cases it is necessary to follow the security protocol completely. At present this matter is under consideration of the Privileges Committee of the Assembly. The committee is investigating this entire matter and further action will be decided on the basis of available facts. In the coming time, after the report of the committee, the situation on this subject may become more clear.
