Delhi Bagdogra Flight Bomb Threat : New Delhi : From the capital Delhi (Delhi News) A note containing a bomb was found on a flight to Bagdogra. This caused a commotion in the plane on Sunday. Due to security concerns, the aircraft was immediately diverted to Lucknow. This threat led to the emergency loading of the aircraft ((Emergency Landing) was done. After this, bomb disposal squad and security personnel took over and conducted a thorough investigation.
On Sunday, January 18, 2026 afternoon, a flight from Delhi to Bagdogra (West Bengal) had to make an emergency landing. After the plane took off, a note containing a bomb was found in the plane. This plane was of IndiGo. A bomb was written on the tissue paper in the plane’s washroom. After a passenger found this tissue paper, he immediately showed it to a crew member. A total of 230 passengers, two pilots and five crew members were traveling in this aircraft.

During the flight, confidential information about a bomb threat was received, after which the pilots asked for permission to land the plane. Due to this incident, an atmosphere of fear was created among the passengers. Lucknow’s Chowdhury Charan Singh International Airport was contacted as the nearest airport following security regulations. After receiving permission to land in Lucknow, the aircraft made an emergency landing there. After landing, the aircraft was taken to a safe area of the runway, where senior officials and security agencies had already been alerted.

At 8:46 am on Sunday, ATC (Air Traffic Control) received a bomb alert on Indigo Airlines Flight 6E-6650. As soon as this warning was received, preparations were made for an emergency landing at Lucknow airport. After the emergency landing, the aircraft was parked on an isolation vehicle. The aircraft was grounded at Lucknow airport and is undergoing a thorough inspection. Every corner of the plane is being inspected. Passengers, crew members and officials are heaving a sigh of relief as no suspicious object has been found so far.
What did the police say?
Fire brigade official Rajnish Verma said that fire brigade and BDS teams are inspecting the plane. No suspicious items have been found yet. Efforts are on to find out who wrote the bomb warning on the tissue paper. Police are investigating various aspects of the incident.
