Delhi blast case: NIA found radical material, investigation indicates international conspiracy

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) suspects an international conspiracy in the car blast that took place in Delhi in November last year. According to a report, the NIA has claimed that there is a need to establish a deeper conspiracy in connection with the blast, which has pan-India and international links. The agency has also seized radical and extremist material in Arabic language along with digital evidence.

NIA found radical and inflammatory material

According to the report, the agency has demanded judicial custody of the accused, arguing that it is necessary to interrogate the recovered digital evidence. The material received by NIA contains information which tells how to make explosives using everyday chemicals. Investigators believe the material needs to be analyzed to determine whether it promotes extremist ideology.

NIA will take help of Jamia professor to analyze the material

The NIA has requested the help of an Arabic language expert from Delhi-based Jamia Millia Islamia to analyze the recovered texts and digital documents. This expert has been tasked with conducting a thorough analysis of the recovered literature and articles and preparing a report. NIA believes that the material is allegedly aimed at propagating radical ideology and promoting preparation of explosives using everyday materials.

NIA is keeping an eye on WhatsApp groups

NIA has identified some WhatsApp groups which were used by members associated with the suspected module to communicate. The agency is probing the role of individuals associated with a group called Ansar Ghazwat ul Hind, which is said to belong to a banned organisation. Apart from this, some mobile numbers have been intercepted, so that those persons who follow radical or Jihadi ideology can be identified.

NIA found out the role of all the accused

According to NIA, it is alleged that Aamir Rashid Mir had bought the car used in the blast. Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish had taken part in the preparations for the attack along with deceased accused Umar and other co-accused. Mufti Irfan Ahmed Wage allegedly radicalized the youth and helped plan the attack. Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ghani and Dr Adil Ahmed Rather assisted in logistics, raw material procurement and IED manufacturing.

15 people were killed in Delhi blast

On November 10, 15 people were killed in an explosion in a white Hyundai i20 car near the Red Fort in Delhi, while around 30 people were injured. Security agencies termed it a terrorist attack and linked it to the Faridabad module of Jaish-e-Mohammed. This incident is being investigated by NIA, in which many doctors and suspects have been arrested from across the country including Al-Falah University, Faridabad.
