John Mooney has considerable experience in the field of coaching. He holds Level 1, 2 and 3 coaching certificates from the England and Wales Cricket Board, which reflects his expertise. In the upcoming season, he will replace Dnyaneshwar Rao and Anton Roux in Delhi Capitals, who left the team after IPL 2025.

In his international career of 9 years, he played 64 ODIs and 27 T20 matches. In 55 innings of these 64 ODI matches, he scored 963 runs while batting and took 48 wickets while bowling. Whereas, if we talk about T20 matches, he scored 231 runs while batting in 23 innings of 27 matches. During this period, while bowling, he took 10 wickets in his name.
