Delhi captured in fog! 97 flights cancelled, more than 200 delayed; ‘Zero visibility’ slowed down the pace on the runway
For the last few days, there has been a blanket of fog every morning in Northern India and this trend is continuing on Sunday also. Visibility reduced due to fog. Difficulties are being faced in traveling by road, air and rail.
According to the information, so far 97 flights have been canceled at Delhi Airport, which includes 48 incoming and 49 outgoing flights. More than 200 flights have also been delayed. Talking about Railways, due to bad weather and fog, more than 50 trains running towards Northern Railway are running late.
Airports Authority issued advisory
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) issued an advisory on Sunday, warning that foggy conditions are affecting visibility in parts of northern India and there may be delays or diversions in flight operations at select airports.
The AAI advisory read, “Foggy conditions are affecting visibility over parts of northern India and may lead to delays or diversion of flight operations at select airports. Passengers are advised to check flight updates from their airlines through official channels and allow additional time for airport travel and formalities.”
What did Delhi Airport say?
Delhi Airport’s passenger advisory at 10 am on Sunday said flight operations remained normal at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, but passengers were advised to consult their respective airlines for updated flight schedules.
