Delhi: The body of a student preparing for UPSC was found hanging from a tree

Delhi Crime : The body of a student was found hanging from a tree in suspicious circumstances in Mukherjee Nagar police station area. The body has been identified as Deepak Kumar Meena, who was preparing for UPSC while staying in PG here. The deceased was missing since September 11.

The family had lodged a missing complaint at Mukherjee Nagar police station on September 14. Since then, the police was trying to trace Deepak. After the postmortem, the police handed over the body to the family. In this case, the police officer says that no suicide note has been found from the spot. The police is also investigating many other aspects in this case.

I had cleared the pre-exam in UPSC exam

Deepak Kumar Meena was originally from Dausa district of Rajasthan. Deepak's family consists of his father Chandulal Meena, mother, 2 elder brothers and 2 sisters. His father Chandulal said that Deepak had taken an online course for UPSC and passed the prelims this year while staying in Jaipur. The institute had called him to Delhi to prepare for the mains. Deepak was taking coaching in July while staying in a PG in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi. According to his family members, he used to talk to his family members on the phone every day. He was not calling after talking on the night of September 10.

On getting suspicious, the family called him on 13th September, but his phone was switched off. The family reached his PG in Mukherjee Nagar. There, the young man living in his room told that he has not come to the PG since 11th September. After searching for him in the nearby areas, the family inquired about him from the institute, but no information was found from there. On 14th September, the family registered a missing report of their son in Mukherjee Nagar police station. The police started looking for Deepak. The police searched for him in railway station, bus stand, hospitals, but no clue was found.

The family has accused the institute of not informing the family about the student's absence from class. Meanwhile, the police received information about a young man hanging himself in the forest. As soon as the information was received, the police reached there. The young man was hanging from a tree with a noose. The police took the body into custody. The place where the body was found is at a short distance from the library of Deepak's institute. The police say that the initial investigation has revealed suicide. The police got the post-mortem done on Saturday and handed over the body to the family.
