Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Big relief to Dehradun-Delhi passengers, bus fare cut by 25%

Relief news has emerged for the passengers traveling between Dehradun and Delhi. After the commencement of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, not only time is being saved in bus services, but the fares have also been reduced significantly. Uttarakhand Transport Corporation has decided to reduce the fares of buses operated via Expressway by about 25 percent. After this change, travel has become more affordable for passengers than before. According to the Transport Corporation, buses are running faster on the new expressway route, which has reduced the travel time and is providing better facilities to the passengers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway on April 14, after which it has been opened for the general public and public transport. With the commencement of this expressway, there has been a significant reduction in the travel time between the two cities. Whereas earlier it used to take about 5 hours to reach Delhi from Dehradun, now this journey is being completed in about 3 hours. Due to the new road facilities, not only has the journey become faster, but connectivity and movement on the route has also become more convenient.

Decision to cut bus fares

After the commencement of operations on Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, the Transport Corporation has decided to reduce bus fares. According to the new rates, relief has been given in the fares of different categories of buses. Now the fare of Volvo bus has been reduced from Rs 945 to Rs 709. Whereas the AC bus fare has reduced from Rs 704 to Rs 557. The fare for ordinary buses has been reduced from Rs 420 to Rs 355. This fare reduction is expected to directly benefit daily commuters and tourists, especially those who travel regularly between Delhi and Dehradun.

16 buses start operating on expressway

Uttarakhand Transport Corporation has currently started operating about 16 buses through Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. Earlier, some buses were run on this route as a trial, which completed their journey in just about three hours. After the successful trial, the corporation has started regular bus services on this route. According to Transport Corporation officials, due to the expressway, not only the travel time has reduced, but the operating cost per trip has also reduced.

Assistant General Manager of Rural Depot, Prateek Jain said that the number of passengers traveling through the expressway is continuously increasing. According to him, after the fare cut, further increase in the number of passengers is being seen on this route. He also said that if demand increases further in future, the number of buses will also be expanded, so that passengers do not face any inconvenience. Overall, Delhi-Dehradun Expressway has provided fast, safe and economical travel to the passengers. This is not only making the transportation system more effective but also making travel more convenient than ever for the common people.
