Delhi-Dehradun Expressway started: Now you will reach Dehradun in just 2.5 hours

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway:Today Narendra Modi is going to give a big gift to the country. Delhi-Dehradun Expressway will be inaugurated today. This project is no less than a dream for the people who have been waiting for a long time.

210 km superfast expressway

This expressway is about 210 kilometers long and has been made of 6-lanes. There is also a plan to increase it to 12 lanes in future. This project has been prepared by the National Highways Authority of India i.e. NHAI.

Now only 2.5-3 hours journey

Earlier it used to take 6 hours to reach Dehradun from Delhi, but now this distance will be covered in just 2.5 to 3 hours. This will save both time and petrol.

What is the complete route?

This expressway will start from near Akshardham Temple. After this it will go to Dehradun via Baghpat, Baraut, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur. This route will prove to be very beneficial for the people of West UP and Uttarakhand.

Special facility in Rajaji National Park

The most special part of the expressway has been built near Rajaji National Park. A 12 kilometer long elevated wildlife corridor and a 340 meter long tunnel have been built here, so that there is no harm to the animals.

Connectivity will increase with two link roads

Two major link roads have also been built for better connectivity—Saharanpur-Roorkee-Haridwar Expressway and Ambala-Shamli Expressway. Nearby cities will also directly benefit from this.

Which states will benefit?

People of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Haryana will directly benefit from this expressway. Travel will become easier and business will also increase.

Promotion of tourism and Chardham Yatra

This road will provide great relief to the devotees going on Chardham Yatra. Besides, the number of tourists at Dehradun and surrounding tourist places will also increase.

How much did it cost?

About ₹12,000 crore has been spent on the entire project, making it one of the largest infrastructure projects in North India.
