Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Many steps are being taken by the government for the people of Uttar Pradesh. Along with UP, the double engine government is running many schemes for the people and investors of the state. Road expansion is also a part of this. There is great news for those going from Delhi to Dehradun. Soon the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is going to be fully operational, due to which this distance can be covered in just two and a half hours. Where till now one had to face traffic jams for hours on this route, now high-speed driving will save both time and fuel. Many cities of UP are also going to get the big benefit of this expressway.

Construction status and future picture
At present, trial runs have started and the section from Delhi to Baghpat is under testing. The entire project is expected to be operational by January 2026. 210 kilometer modern six-lane highway
This expressway is about 210 km long six-lane highway, which starts from Akshardham in Delhi and goes straight to Dehradun. Its design speed has been kept at 100 km per hour, which makes it one of the most modern expressways in the country. Special priority has been given to environmental protection in this project being built at a cost of about Rs 12,000 crore.
Asia’s longest elevated wildlife corridor
The biggest feature of this expressway is Asia’s longest high altitude wildlife corridor. This corridor will ensure safe movement of animals in the parts passing through forests. Apart from this, the separate underpass for elephants and the 340 meter long tunnel in Dehradun makes it very special technically.
Routes, facilities and smart infrastructure
This highway will pass through cities like Baghpat, Baraut, Meerut, Shamli and Saharanpur. For the convenience of passengers:

– 62 bus shelters
– Many service roads
Besides, the connectivity with Haridwar Spur and Char Dham Highway will also be of great benefit to the pilgrims. Arrangements for power generation through solar panels have also been made on the expressway.
