Delhi Dry Day: Liquor shops will be locked in Delhi for four days, know when and why there will be dry day?
New Delhi. The voting date of Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 is approaching. Delhi Government has taken a big step in this regard. It has been decided to keep liquor shops and other establishments serving liquor closed during the elections. Recently, a notification has been issued by the Excise Commissioner of Delhi, in which liquor shops have been ordered to remain closed from 3rd to 5th February and 8th February.

When and why will liquor shops remain closed?
In view of Delhi elections, 3rd to 5th February and 8th February have been declared as dry days. It has been decided to keep liquor shops closed during these dates. There will be a dry day from 6 pm on 3 February to 6 pm on 5 February and on the day of counting on 8 February. This order has been issued by the Excise Commissioner of Delhi under the Excise Rules-2010, so that there is no impact on the elections and alcohol does not have any adverse effect on the voting process.
During this period, Delhi Government has taken such steps to make the elections peaceful and fair. This step will ensure that there is no external influence in the voting process and the elections are conducted in a fair manner.
