Delhi government's big step on Diwali, launched this special campaign to stop firecracker pollution

Delhi News: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi has taken a big step. Environment Minister Gopal Rai has launched a special campaign today i.e. on Monday to stop pollution from firecrackers on Diwali. Gopal Rai has started this campaign by lighting lamps at Babarpur Bus Terminal. He has named this campaign 'Light lamps, not firecrackers'. This is being seen as a commendable step by the AAP government in dealing with air pollution.

'Public participation is necessary to reduce pollution'

Launching the 'Light lamps, no firecrackers' campaign, Delhi government minister Gopal Rai said, 'Public participation is necessary to reduce pollution.' During this, Minister Gopal Rai also appealed to the people to celebrate Diwali by lighting lamps. He said that the aim of the 'Light lamps, not firecrackers' campaign is to stop people from burning firecrackers, so that air pollution in Delhi is reduced and people do not have to face the problems arising from it. Let us tell you that despite the ban, people burst firecrackers on Diwali every year in Delhi.

'Pollution is fatal for children and elderly'

AAP Minister Gopal also told about the ill effects of pollution caused by firecrackers. He said that on the occasion of Diwali, Delhi's air becomes heavily polluted due to the pollution caused by firecrackers and this pollution is very dangerous for children and the elderly. The government has organized a campaign 'Light lamps, no firecrackers' today at Babarpur Bus Terminal to spread public awareness about the ban on firecrackers. This campaign to make people aware will continue till Diwali. He said that public participation is necessary to reduce pollution.
