Delhi government’s decision: Schools up to class five closed in view of dangerous levels of air pollution.
New Delhi, 15 December. In view of the dangerous levels of air pollution in the national capital Delhi and NCR, the Delhi government has suspended offline classes for students from nursery to class five with immediate effect. Now till further notice, these classes will be taught only through online medium.
This order will be equally applicable to all government schools, government aided schools and private recognized schools in Delhi. The government says that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the health of small children because children and the elderly are most affected by pollution.

It is noteworthy that in the last few days, the air quality of Delhi reached such a dangerous level that the government had to implement Group Four. AQI continues to remain in the severe category in the capital. A thick layer of fog is being seen in the morning and night and visibility has also reduced in many areas.
Delhi is currently facing a serious problem of air pollution. Many reasons are being given behind this. Smoke from vehicles, emissions from industrial units, dust from construction works and weather conditions are making the situation worse. Education from nursery to class five will be online only
The government says that the situation is being constantly monitored. As soon as the air quality improves, further decisions regarding schools will be taken. At present, giving priority to the safety of children, the path of online education has been chosen.
