Security concerns regarding cameras

According to the government, approval has been given to replace 50,000 Chinese cameras in the first phase. After this, the remaining cameras will be gradually removed and systems equipped with new technology will be installed. Taking aim at the opposition, Minister Parvesh Verma said that for the previous government it was only a matter of numbers and publicity, whereas for the present government it is a matter of citizens’ safety, accountability and data protection, on which there will be no compromise.
