Delhi HC strict on objectionable posts against Gautam Gambhir, orders Google and Meta to delete them

The court has given clear instructions to tech giants Google, Meta and Amazon to immediately remove all ‘objectionable’ and ‘defamatory’ posts targeting Gambhir from their platforms. Gambhir had alleged that fake news is being spread against him in a planned manner, due to which his reputation is being damaged. High Court bluntly: Links should be removed within 48 hours. Hearing the petition of Gautam Gambhir, the bench of Justice Mini Pushkarna has issued an interim order. Court’s order: The court said that such material on the internet, which has been posted with the aim of defaming the character of a person, should not be given freedom of expression. Cannot be accepted. Time limit: Social media companies have been directed to delete or block the URLs and posts identified by Gambhir within the next 48 hours. What was the whole matter?
