Delhi High Court grants interim bail till March 18, Rajpal Yadav’s ‘crisis’ averted

For Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, Monday finally brought relief news amid legal complications and immense tension. Delhi High Court has granted interim bail to the actor trapped in check bounce case till March 18, 2026. During the hearing on Monday morning, the court’s stance was quite strict. The justice had made it clear that if Rajpal Yadav wanted interim bail, he would have to deposit a demand draft (DD) of Rs 1.5 crore in the name of the defendant by 3 pm. The court had said, ‘If you deposit the DD, we will release you, otherwise the hearing will be held tomorrow.’ However, it is not yet known whether Rajpal Yadav’s team has submitted the demand draft of Rs 1.5 crore in the court or not.

Rajpal Yadav has created a strong reputation in Bollywood with his amazing comedy and acting ability, but repeated court cases have raised question marks on his brand value. ‘Credibility’ is the biggest asset in the entertainment industry, and involvement in serious matters like check bounce can affect the professional future of any artiste. In the current times of increasingly stringent laws, this case sends a message that lapses in financial discipline can come at a cost not only in heavy fines but also in loss of personal freedom.

Rajpal Yadav’s legal maze
Rajpal Yadav’s current legal crisis has its roots deep in the year 2010. This was the period when he entered the field of direction along with acting and decided to make his first film ‘Ata Pata Lapata’. To complete this project, he had taken a loan of about Rs 5 crore from a Delhi based company. However, the film was not successful at the box office and the problem of loan repayment arose. It is alleged that the checks given by the actor for payment bounced in the bank, after which the matter passed from the lower court to the Delhi High Court. It is noteworthy that Rajpal Yadav had to go to jail earlier also due to this controversy.
