Delhi High Court refuses permission for Chhath Puja at Yamuna Ghat; reason given
Delhi High Court has given a shock to those performing Chhath Puja at Yamuna Ghat. The court has given the reason for this that due to sufficient pollution in the river, people may suffer harm. The matter came up in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, where a bench of Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela refused permission. The court said that there is abundant pollution in Yamuna, hence devotees cannot be allowed to perform Chhath Puja.

The court said in this matter that people should perform Chhath Puja safely at these 1000 places where arrangements have been made.

Purvanchan Navnirman Sansthan had filed a petition in the court, in which they wanted permission to perform Chhath Puja at Yamuna Ghat. The court ruled in this case that people can become ill due to pollution at Yamuna Ghat, hence people cannot be allowed to perform Chhath Puja.
