Illegal construction in Delhi will be razed to the ground in 72 hours; DDA in action after LG’s tough stance, formed teams
Delhi Illegal Construction Will be Collapsed in 72 hours: Now illegal construction in the country’s capital Delhi will be demolished in 72 hours. LG Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu has taken a strong stand against illegal encroachment on government and DDA lands. After the tough stance of LG, DDA has also come into action mode. Under the ‘zero-tolerance’ policy, DDA has constituted 14 flying squads and 4 QRT teams, which will remove encroachments within 72 hours.
In implementation of LG’s ‘zero-tolerance’ policy, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has also issued a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Under this, if any illegal construction or encroachment is found anywhere in the capital, it will be demolished within 72 hours.
According to the new SOP issued by DDA, 14 Flying Squad teams and four dedicated Quick Response Teams (QRT) have been formed for ground surveillance and prompt action. As per the instructions of LG, hi-tech system is being implemented to stop encroachment. 14 Flying Squad teams will conduct regular and systematic inspections in their respective areas. Drone survey and modern technologies will be used to identify illegal constructions at the initial stage itself.
With this new system, while coordination between the engineering, horticulture and land management departments will be strengthened, accountability of the officers will also be fixed. DDA has made it clear that this campaign against encroachment will continue strictly for the safety of public lands and planned development of Delhi.
Action will be taken within 72 hours, ban on re-possession
The responsibility of demolishing the identified illegal constructions has been assigned to four Quick Response Teams (QRTs). QRT will complete the demolition action within just 72 hours after the legal process is completed and the encroachment is identified. At the same time, after the action, geo-tagged ‘before and after’ photographs and reports will have to be submitted by the evening of the same day. Along with this, videography of the spot will be done and a board of DDA ownership will be installed there.
