Amandeep Dhall, accused of alleged liquor scam, got bail from SC, the court advised him to cooperate in the investigation.

Delhi Liquor Scam: (Report- Sushil Pandey) Another accused in Delhi liquor scam got bail from the Supreme Court. In fact, the Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to businessman Amandeep Singh Dhall in a corruption case related to the alleged liquor policy scam. Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court will decide the conditions of bail. Along with this, the Supreme Court has asked Dhal to cooperate in the trial. The Supreme Court has told Dhal that he will have to appear in the trial court on every date. The Supreme Court told the CBI that you should focus on punishment.

Number of witnesses reached around 300

Let us tell you that the trial in Delhi liquor scam will last a long time. Because the number of witnesses in this case is very high which has reached around 300. In such a situation, the trial does not seem to be completed soon. Dhal's lawyer told the court that the accused has been in jail for one and a half years. There seems to be no reason to keep him in jail further in this case. Dhal's lawyer further said that he has been in jail for 557 days. Let us tell you that Amandeep Dhal was arrested on March 1, 2023.

The lawyer told the court that there is only one person in this case who is still in jail, even though the charge sheet has been filed. CBI lawyer said that Amandeep Dhall tried to bribe ED officials. On which a separate case has been registered. Amandeep Dhall had approached the Supreme Court challenging the June 4 decision of the High Court, in which he was refused bail in the case.

Know what is Delhi Liquor Scam?

The Delhi liquor scam case started in November 2021. Then the AAP government of Delhi had implemented a new liquor policy in the capital. Earlier, there were 864 liquor shops in Delhi, out of which 475 were government owned. But after the new policy came, the government came out of the liquor business and Delhi's liquor business went into private hands. This is where this loss started. Because after the introduction of the new policy, the government's earnings decreased but the liquor traders started earning big money.
