Delhi Mumbai Expressway: Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will start soon, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari gave this information

Delhi Mumbai Expressway: A very good news has emerged regarding Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari told the Lok Sabha on Thursday that the first part from DND to Jaitpur will be ready by June 2026. This information was given in response to the question of South Delhi MP Ramveer Singh Bidhuri.

Actually, the 59 kilometer DND-Faridabad-Sohna section of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is being constructed in three parts. Two of these parts have already been completed and opened and trains are running. Now only the first part is left, which will be opened to the public by June.

The hardest part is almost ready

The Road Minister said that the most challenging part of the expressway, i.e. 9 kilometer Package-1 from DND Junction to Jaitpur is almost ready. Its work is 94% complete and it will be completely built by June 2026. This part was delayed because it took time to get approval from the UP Irrigation Department for the design of the bridge on the Agra Canal. Rs 71,718 crore has been spent so far on the entire Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project, making it the most expensive and fastest highway in the country.

Improvement in tourism and travel

Nitin Gadkari said that the entire expressway will have 8 lanes and the journey from Delhi to Mumbai will be completed in only 12 hours instead of the present 24 hours. The route is being closely scrutinized so that the journey is safe, comfortable and hassle-free. Also, state-of-the-art technology is being used to control expenses.

The minister also said that the construction of the highway will boost tourism, the number of people traveling will increase and the commute will become easier for the common people. On November 28, he also inspected the project in Surat, Gujarat and said that the quality check of the road has been completed and minor improvements are also underway to make it completely safe.

New facility for passengers

A few days ago, for the convenience of passengers on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, helicopter service was inaugurated at the 125 kilometer rest area near Pinan town in Alwar district of Rajasthan. It is running a company named “Book Your Helicopter”. Its biggest benefit will be that in case of a road accident, the injured can be immediately taken to the hospital by helicopter. This initiative will help save hundreds of precious lives every year on the busiest highways of the country.
