Huge increase in air fares due to cancellation of Indigo flights, Delhi-Mumbai ticket increased from 7 thousand to 70 thousand.
Indigo Crisis: Due to cancellation of Indigo Airlines flights, other airlines are taking advantage of this by increasing fares by thousands of rupees from passengers.
Indigo Crisis: The impact of the ongoing flight cancellation crisis of Indigo Airlines in the country is also being seen in the capital Bhopal. Due to continuous cancellation of Indigo Airlines flights at Raja Bhoj Airport, the problems of passengers have reached its peak. Many passengers going to Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru came to know about the cancellation of their flights at the airport without prior notice, due to which they remained worried for hours. Passengers allege that neither message or e-mail was sent to them on time nor could they get any proper assistance from the airline. Also, the staff is not giving correct information to the passengers nor providing clear arrangements for other flights or refunds. In such a situation, when Indigo Airlines flights are cancelled, other airlines are taking advantage of this by increasing fares from passengers by thousands of rupees.
Other airlines are charging thousands of rupees
The situation became so bad that a family going to Mumbai was forced to book a taxi from the airport itself and travel by road. Meanwhile, other airlines have suddenly increased their fares, due to which ticket prices have reached Rs 40 to 50 thousand. The direct effect of cancellation of Indigo flights was that other airlines have increased their fares manifold.
While earlier the fare from Delhi to Mumbai was around Rs 7 thousand, now the same ticket has reached Rs 70 thousand. The ticket from Delhi to Patna, which used to be available for around Rs 5 thousand on normal days, has now reached Rs 47 thousand. Passengers say that at such fares, traveling abroad will be much cheaper, because at present the fare to reach Patna is the same as the total fare to and from London.
Today only one Indigo flight took off from Bhopal
According to the information, about 13 Indigo flights operate daily from Bhopal Airport, but this number is getting affected rapidly in the last few days. The situation became worse today as only one of the scheduled flights could take off, while most were either canceled or delayed for hours. Due to this, there was an atmosphere of chaos at the airport and passengers were constantly waiting for information at the counters.
Crisis on flights in Gwalior also
A similar situation has been seen in Gwalior also, where Indigo flights on the Delhi-Gwalior route have been closed for the last two days. Passengers believe that the negligence of the airline management is also a major reason for this crisis. People demand that in such circumstances, passengers should be informed in advance, alternative travel arrangements should be ensured and the financial loss incurred should also be compensated. In the current situation, this crisis is taking a heavy toll on both the time and money of the passengers.
