Delhi News: The government led by Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has once again proved its strong commitment towards environmental protection, better public transport and sustainable development. In the Cabinet meeting held at Delhi Secretariat, three important decisions were taken to realize the vision of ‘Green, Clean and Future Ready Delhi’, which will not only address the current challenges but also lay a strong foundation of a clean and safe capital for the coming generations.

Now DTC will handle the entire bus service system
According to the cabinet decision, the services operated by Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) will be abolished from April 1, 2026 and all the bus services in the capital will be completely under the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). This will make bus operations more efficient, services time bound and passengers will be provided with more convenient public transport with better connectivity.

Revitalization of reservoirs will improve environmental balance
The Rekha government has also taken an important decision to revitalize the reservoirs and water sources of Delhi. E-waste eco park will be built in Holambi Kalan
It has been decided to set up ‘E-Waste Eco Park’ at Holambi Kalan for safe and scientific disposal of electronic waste. This initiative will not only strengthen e-waste management, but will also give new strength to environmental protection and move Delhi towards modern waste management.

Earlier, in a high-level meeting, CM Rekha Gupta had given clear instructions to the concerned departments that the action of challan on vehicles without valid PUC certificate will continue strictly and no relaxation will be given. The government is completely serious about pollution control.
Preparation to reduce dependence on personal vehicles
With an aim to reduce the increasing use of private vehicles, the government will talk to companies like Ola and Uber to start pool and share bus services. Also, DTC bus routes are being reorganized so that services can be provided more effectively in areas where public transport is in greater need.
