Delhi News Brief: In the news of tomorrow (30 June 2026) SIR started in Delhi, CM Rekha Gupta submits calculation form; Shock to Arvind Kejriwal; MCD extends last date for 10% rebate on property tax; Traffic challan settlement ‘Non Stop’ remained prominent in Delhi.

1. SIR started in Delhi, CM Rekha Gupta submitted the calculation form.

Special Intensive Revision of Voter List (SIR) has started in the national capital of Delhi. The work of distributing enumeration forms has started from today i.e. June 30. More than 13 thousand BLOs will go door-to-door to verify the voter list. 13,000 BLOs will go door-to-door across the capital to verify 1.45 crore voters. The first phase of verification of voter list will continue till July 29. The draft voter list will be published on August 5. The final voter list will be published on October 7.

2. Shock to Arvind Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party i.e. AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has suffered a shock. In a blow to Arvind Kejriwal, the Supreme Court has refused to hear the case of suspending the social media page of Gujarat AAP. The Supreme Court has refused to hear soon the petition filed against the suspension of the party’s Facebook and Instagram handles.

3. MCD extended the last date of 10% rebate on property tax

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has extended the last date of 10% rebate on property tax, giving huge relief to lakhs of property taxpayers of the capital. Earlier this relaxation was available till 30 June 2026, but now it has been extended to 31 July 2026. That means, now taxpayers can avail the benefit of this special exemption by depositing lump sum property tax during the entire month of July.

4. Traffic Challan Settlement ‘Non Stop’ in Delhi

A new rule has been implemented regarding settlement of traffic challan in Delhi. For the convenience of the people and for quick settlement of long pending challans, now there will be solution for settlement of traffic challan even on holidays. This facility will start from July 5th. Now Weekend Traffic Court will operate on the second Saturday and all Sundays every month. This initiative has been taken by Delhi District Court and Delhi Traffic Police.
