There will be action on old vehicles in Delhi! Scrap directly without notice, get updated before leaving home

Delhi NCR News: Delhi Transport Department has issued a strict public notice on Saturday, in which it has been said that old vehicles parked or running on the city roads can be confiscated and scrapped directly without any prior notice. This step has been taken to control the increasing air pollution in the capital and to strictly enforce the rules related to pollution.

According to the rules, diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years come under the category of ‘end-of-life vehicles’. Apart from this, vehicles with BS-III or lower emission standards will also be under the ambit of this action. If such vehicles are found parked or moving in public places, they can be confiscated without any additional warning and will later be scrapped.

The department made this appeal to vehicle owners

The Transport Department has appealed to vehicle owners to obtain No Objection Certificate (NOC) for their old vehicles. By taking this certificate, they can take their vehicle outside the Delhi-NCR region to any other state, where such rules are not applicable or the vehicle may be allowed. The department has clearly said that taking the vehicle out without NOC can also be considered a violation of the rules.

Special campaign will be run

According to officials, in the coming time a special campaign will also be launched to remove old and polluting vehicles from the city. Under this campaign, vehicles parked on roads, colonies and public parking lots will be checked. Vehicle owners may have to suffer financial losses if the rules are not followed, as it will be difficult to get the seized vehicles back.

The government believes that this strictness will improve air quality and help in reducing pollution levels. Therefore, vehicle owners have been advised to check the condition of their vehicle in time and take necessary steps, so that any kind of problem can be avoided.
