Delhi-Patna Indigo flight returned midway, many passengers including MP stranded

Patna: Indigo Airlines flight coming from Delhi to Patna once again became a cause of trouble for the passengers. After taking off at 2:20 pm on Wednesday 14 January, this flight returned back to Delhi midway. This sudden incident caused anger and concern among the passengers on board the plane.

Indigo flight number 6E-2425 had left for Patna from Terminal-2 of New Delhi. About half an hour into the flight, a technical fault surfaced in the plane. After this the pilot informed the passengers about the situation. Keeping security in mind, permission for emergency landing was sought in Lucknow, but due to non-availability of landing slot there, the plane was landed back at Delhi airport. The difficulties of the passengers increased as soon as they returned to Delhi. Jamui MP Arun Bharti, many passengers from Patna and surrounding districts were also on board the flight.

Permission not granted to land in Lucknow

Passenger Rocky told that he was returning from Delhi to Patna after dropping his son in school in Dehradun. The plane took off on time, but a technical problem was reported within 30 minutes. An attempt was made to land in Lucknow, but permission was not received. After this the plane was brought back to Delhi.

There is no alternative arrangement to come to Patna immediately

After reaching Delhi, the passengers were not given any alternative arrangement to go to Patna immediately. All the passengers were forced to book flights for the next morning. New tickets are being given by Indigo for Thursday morning. However, at night, passengers have to stay in hotels in Delhi and Gurgaon. Passengers say that technical glitches are being reported repeatedly in IndiGo flights. Due to this, passengers’ time is being wasted. Apart from this, one has to face additional expenses and mental stress also. Sudden return or cancellation of flights is becoming a big problem for common passengers.
