Delhi Police alert about CJP’s proposed ‘Halla Bol’ protest, security arrangements tightened
Tezzbuzz Desk- Delhi Police and security agencies are on full alert regarding the proposed protest in the capital by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). Following inputs from intelligence agencies, security arrangements have been increased in Jantar Mantar and surrounding areas. According to police sources, no formal permission application for the protest has been received so far, yet extensive preparations have been made in view of the possible crowd and law and order situation. CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke is scheduled to reach Delhi on Saturday morning. He had recently appealed to his supporters and students to join the protests to be organized in Delhi. Deepke had also urged his supporters through social media and other means to come to welcome him when he reached Delhi airport on June 6. According to the information, Abhijeet Deepke will reach Delhi airport at around 8 am and from there there is a plan to go directly to Parliament Street police station, where he can apply for permission to protest. His supporters have also been asked to gather outside the Parliament Street police station at 9 am. Delhi Police, however, has clarified that no official permission has been sought so far for the demonstration. Despite this, the security agencies are ready to deal with any untoward situation. Additional police forces and paramilitary forces were deployed in Jantar Mantar area on Friday. The entire area has been secured by putting up barricades and people coming and going are being monitored. According to sources, the police is keeping a special watch on areas with high concentration of students like Mukherjee Nagar, Rajendra Nagar, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Munirka, Neb Sarai and Laxmi Nagar. Local police have been instructed to remain alert regarding possible mobilization in these areas. Apart from this, Delhi Police is also keeping an eye on the movement of people coming from different states. Information about potential passengers and groups is being collected by contacting bus operators and transport agencies. Officials say that maintaining peace and law and order in the capital is a priority. If an application is made for permission to perform, it will be examined based on the prescribed rules and safety standards. At present, police and intelligence agencies are continuously monitoring the situation.
