Delhi Police arrested 966 people before New Year

New Delhi 27 December 2025: Delhi Police action before the New Year Ahead of the New Year celebrations, Delhi Police launched a massive operation in Southeast Delhi under “Operation Trauma 3.0”. During this operation, 966 people were arrested and weapons, drugs, illicit liquor and vehicles were seized. The purpose of this operation was to stop organized crimes and street crimes during festivals. Police also arrested 116 listed criminals.

Delhi Police arrested 966 people during a massive operation in Southeast Delhi ahead of New Year celebrations. An officer had said that during the raid the police had seized weapons, drugs, illegal liquor and vehicles.

He said that keeping in mind the huge influx of people during the year-end festivals, this campaign named Operation Trauma 3.0 was started to stop organized crimes, street crimes and activities of criminals.

Police had said that out of the total accused, 331 accused were arrested under Delhi Excise Act, NDPS Act and Public Gambling Act, while 504 accused were arrested under various preventive provisions. Officials said that under the targeted action, the police arrested 116 listed criminals, five vehicle thieves and four declared criminals.

During this operation, the police seized 21 country-made pistols, 20 live cartridges and 27 knives under the Arms Act. They also seized 12,258 quarts of illicit liquor, 6.01 kg of ganja and Rs 2.36 lakh from the Jugaris. Police had said that a total of 310 mobile phones, six two-wheelers and one four-wheeler were also seized.

Additionally, officials said that action was taken against 1,306 persons under the Delhi Police Act, while 231 two-wheelers were seized for violations. More than 600 police personnel were deployed in the district for this operation.

Police had said that the objective of these operations was to prevent any untoward incident during New Year celebrations, especially in residential areas and slums, and to arrest organized crime networks and criminals.

Officials said that strict legal provisions, including sections 111 and 112 of the BNS, will be applied in deserving cases and proposals are also being initiated to deport repeat offenders. Police further said that due to intensive patrolling, vehicle checking and night monitoring, there has been a decline in PCR calls related to road crime in the district in the last month.
