The Delhi Police Special Cell dismantled an alleged espionage network linked to Pakistan’s ISI and Babbar Khalsa International, arresting 11 suspects in coordinated raids across Delhi and Punjab.
Police arrested six suspects in the first operation and recovered nine solar-powered CCTV cameras installed near sensitive defence sites. Later, five more individuals were detained in Punjab following military intelligence inputs. These cameras transmitted live feeds to handlers in Pakistan through encrypted applications.
Investigators seized four pistols, including three imported PX5 models, a country-made weapon, and 24 live cartridges. They also recovered five hand grenades, detonators, IED components with one kilogram of high explosives packed with nails, and a push-to-talk timer device. Officials confirmed that the module received funding through UPI transactions, partly from illegal arms trafficking.
Authorities said the network planned grenade attacks on security establishments and was actively radicalising youths for espionage and terrorism. The arrests disrupted imminent high-impact strikes and prevented a broader campaign aimed at destabilising public peace.
Investigators are tracing forward and backward linkages to identify sleeper cells and local support networks. Officials believe similar espionage operations may remain active in other regions, pointing to a coordinated attempt at cross-border intelligence gathering.
