A new claim has emerged in the investigation of Delhi Police regarding the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. According to police sources, 2,873 people present in and around the protest site between July 20 and July 25 have been identified, who have previous criminal records. Police say that they have been identified through Facial Recognition System (FRS), CCTV footage and other technical means.

The police have not said that all these people were involved in the violence. At present, the investigating agencies are trying to find out which of these people played a real role in the violent incidents that took place during the protest. According to police sources, 2,873 people present during and around the Jantar Mantar protest were identified through technical analysis. Investigation revealed that these people had previous records in various criminal cases.
