Delhi Police issues traffic advisory in view of AI Impact Summit, diversion will remain till 16-20 February

New Delhi, 15 February. Delhi Police on Sunday issued a traffic advisory for February 16 to 20 in view of the AI ​​Impact Summit being held in the national capital from Monday. AI Impact Summit, a five-day international event, is being organized at the Bharat Mandapam of Pragati Maidan, in which heads of different countries and governments, ministers, senior delegates of the invited countries and leaders of major international organizations will participate.

Given the scale and profile of the event, officials expect that there will be traffic control at the venue and its surrounding areas. In its advisory, Delhi Police said that complete traffic arrangements will be made for the safety and convenience of the people.

Traffic diversion will have greater impact in New Delhi and surrounding areas.

These arrangements will mainly impact New Delhi and surrounding areas so that movement of vehicles becomes easier and commuters face minimal hassles. The statement said that the purpose of these measures is to ensure easy and hassle-free travel by all types of transport while maintaining ease of travel for the general public during the summit.

The advisory states, ‘Essential services, including medical emergency vehicles, will be allowed to move without any hindrance and will be given priority. Common people will be provided facilities through other designated routes and modes of transport.

These routes will remain restricted zones

Some parts have been identified as restricted zones during VVIP route movement. These include Bhairo Marg, Ring Road except T-point and Mathura Road from Subramaniam Bharati Marg T-point to Dr. Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk.

Police said that entry of general vehicles will not be allowed during route movement. The trains which are not going to Delhi will be diverted to the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways and other designated routes. Such vehicles will not be allowed to enter the national capital during the summit.

Movement of passengers going to airports and railway stations will become easier, however, commuters have been advised to be mindful of longer journey times and consider alternative routes to avoid delays. In view of the upcoming traffic regulations, motorists have also been asked to use the metro service to reach the airport terminal.

Additionally, buses can be rerouted as per need to ensure safety and easy traffic management during VVIP movement. Delhi Police has appealed to people and visitors to cooperate with authorities and plan their travel in advance to minimize disruption during the high-profile summit.
