Delhi Pollution: Air becomes poisonous in Delhi, AQI crosses 400; GRAP-3 implemented from today

With the drop in temperature in Delhi in the last two days, pollution has reached dangerous levels. At 6.30 am on Friday, pollution levels reached dangerous levels in 8 out of 40 weather stations in Delhi, while the weather is expected to remain clear and strong during the day. For the second consecutive day, the problems of pollution and dense fog are increasing in the serious category in Delhi. Visibility levels dropped by 300 meters in the morning, while Safdarjung recorded a drop of 700 meters, hence Group 3 restrictions have been imposed in Delhi.

According to the Real Time Air Quality Index, New Delhi US Embassy area had the highest pollution, i.e. AQI 474. Apart from this, 438 in Loni, 414 in Punjabi Bagh and Shaheed Sukhdev College, 412 in Daryaganj, Civil Lines 407, Mori Gate 404 and Connaught Place 401. At other places the AQI was between 300 and 400.

Weather Update: It is going to be severe cold, people of Delhi should take out their blankets, IMD has told when will the shivering start, know the weather condition of the entire country including Bihar-Jharkhand.

IMD said the sky will be clear on Friday. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of around 8 kilometers per hour in the morning, and moderate to dense fog will occur at some places in Delhi. The wind speed will increase during the day, reaching 12 kilometers per hour in the afternoon.

On Thursday evening, cold winds blew in Delhi and there was a thick blanket of fog, which reduced visibility and increased the cold. The second lowest temperature recorded so far this season was 29.4 degrees Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature recorded at a distance of 200 meters in Safdarjung and Palam at 5:30 am was 27.8 degrees Celsius, which was the lowest temperature so far this winter season.

There is a possibility of rain in Uttar Pradesh and visibility has reduced in many parts due to dense fog in the state. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of further increase in cold in Uttar Pradesh in the next few days, and there is a possibility of cold in Bihar also. Today the maximum temperature in the state is likely to be 30 to 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be 20 to 21 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of rain in Karnataka on November 18, Tamil Nadu on November 19, Andhra Pradesh on November 19 and Kerala on November 19.
