AAP MLA's problems may increase: Court issues another summons amid Delhi elections, will have to appear on February 18, this is the whole matter
AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan: Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan's troubles may increase during Delhi Assembly Elections 2025. The court has issued another summons. The court said that a prima facie case has been established against the accused. Whereas AAP MLA has been ordered to appear in the court on 18th February.
Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has issued summons to Amanatullah Khan, MLA from Okhla Assembly seat, for not joining the ED investigation. Issuing the summons, the court said that a prima facie case has been established against the accused. Issuing the order, Magistrate Paras Dalal said that in short, the contents of the complaint and the material placed on record, prima facie constitute an offense under Section 208 of the Indian Code of Justice, 2023. There are sufficient grounds for proceedings against accused Amanatullah Khan under Section 227 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023.

Amanatullah will have to appear on 18th February
It was told that summons were also issued to Amanatullah Khan on 19 April, 29 April, 1 May, 19 June and 20 June last year. Even after this you MLA did not appear. After which the court has issued summons to AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan for a punishable offense under Section 208 of BNSS. The court has directed to appear on February 18, 2025 at 11 am. Told in the court that the accused are deliberately disregarding the summons. By doing so he has committed contempt of court and a punishable offence.

What is the whole matter?
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan on September 2. Amanatullah is accused of financial irregularities when he was the chairman of Delhi Waqf Board. He was taken into judicial custody, although the court ordered his release on 14 November. Now another summons can create problems for Amanatullah amid Delhi Assembly elections.
