New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders made a strong comeback at the end of the season by defeating Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets. Finn Allen was the hero of the match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 8, 2026, who kept KKR in the race for the playoffs by scoring unbeaten 100 runs in 47 balls.

Finn Allen’s first IPL century

Let us tell you that Kiwi opener Finn Allen was seen in a different mood from the beginning for KKR who were chasing the target of 143 runs in the match. He thrashed the Delhi bowlers badly. On the last ball of the match, Allen needed 4 runs to complete his century.

So he completed his first IPL century by sending the ball across the boundary and also led the team to victory. Allen returned not out after scoring 100 runs in 47 balls. His innings included 10 long sixes and 5 fours. This innings played at a strike rate of 212.77 made the match one-sided.

Delhi team was limited to 142

Batting first, Delhi Capitals could only score 142/8 in 20 overs. KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka gave a fast start and added 49 runs for the first wicket. Rahul was out after scoring 23 runs. After this Nissanka took charge and completed his fifty in 29 balls.

But as soon as Nissanka was out, Delhi’s innings faltered. The middle order could not make any big partnership. In the end, Ashutosh Sharma played a fighting inning of 39 runs in 28 balls and took the team beyond 140.

KKR’s fourth consecutive win

It is noteworthy that this is KKR’s fourth consecutive win. Kolkata’s journey in IPL 2026 seemed divided into two parts. The team was at the bottom in April.
