Indian Railways is set to revolutionise long-distance rail travel with the upcoming Delhi–Patna Vande Bharat Sleeper Trainwhich is expected to cover nearly 1,000 kilometres in just 8 hours. Unlike the chair-car versions of Vande Bharat currently in operation, the Delhi–Patna route will feature the Vande Bharat Sleeper variantdesigned specifically for long journeys. The train is expected to operate at much higher average speeds compared to conventional Rajdhani and premium express trains, drastically cutting travel time between the national capital and Bihar’s capital.
Covering the distance in 8 hours means passengers could board late in the evening and arrive early morning, offering a faster and more convenient alternative to flights.
