When every woman living in Delhi was traveling free in DTC, then what was the need for Pink Card?- Saurabh Bhardwaj

Delhi News: AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj has expressed his views regarding the proposed pink card system in the free bus travel scheme for women in Delhi. He said that till now all the women living in Delhi were taking the benefit of free travel in DTC buses through pink tickets. Under this system, a woman coming from any state and living in Delhi could easily get a free ticket by boarding the bus.

Saurabh Bhardwaj raised these questions

Recently a discussion has come to light that Pink Card can be implemented in place of Pink Ticket for free travel. On this Saurabh Bhardwaj raised the question that when the existing system was running smoothly then why was the need for a new card system felt. He says that the government should make it clear on what conditions the Pink Card will be issued and what documents will be required for it.

Detailed information should be made public

Saurabh Bhardwaj also said that there are a large number of women living in Delhi who have Aadhaar cards from other states. In such a situation, it is important to clarify whether they will have to face any kind of problem in getting the pink card made or not. He believes that before implementing the new process, detailed information on all aspects should be made public.

The new system should be made accessible to all eligible women

According to Saurabh Bhardwaj, there was no possibility of any financial irregularity in the free ticket system, because conductors get fixed salaries and private buses are paid on per kilometer basis. She suggested that if the new system is implemented, it should be made simple, transparent and accessible to all eligible women.

Women’s rights given priority

The AAP Delhi state president also said that before implementing any new process, it should be ensured that women do not have to face unnecessary paperwork or extra hassle. She believes that giving priority to women’s convenience and rights should be of utmost importance.
