Delicious in Dungeon Season 2: Release date buzz, cast news and plot details – Everything we know so far

The animated series Delicious in Dungeon has captivated audiences worldwide with its combination of fantasy adventures set in dungeons and delicious food made from monsters, making it one of the most highly-anticipated series on any global OTT platform. Continuing to appeal to fans everywhere is the character-driven adventure styled realism combined with whimsicality, as we follow Laios and his party on their adventures looking for food all throughout a dungeon; this is a great recipe mixture of humour, friendship, and innovative cooking. Fans cannot wait for Season 2 as it will reveal more hidden secrets of the dungeons, generate total rivalries, introduce new foods, and create emotional stakes, all while continuing the popular daily storytelling style told through wonderful meals following the exciting cliffhangers and emotional high of Season 1 in 2024.

Immediately following the conclusion of the first season of Delicious in Dungeon (also known as Dungeon Meshi) in June 2024, the show was officially renewed for a second season. Studio Trigger will continue producing the show, although an official release date or window has yet to be announced as of February 2026.

Industry trackers have pointed to a potential late 2026 or early 2027 release for the second season based on the typical timelines for anime productions (particularly for high-quality, action-heavy adaptations). Due to the studio’s current workload and lack of available marketing materials, speculation that the second season will premiere in 2025 has dwindled.

Netflix has streamed all episodes of Delicious in Dungeon season 1 globally from January 2024 through June 2024 and is anticipated to remain the exclusive streaming platform for season 2, though specifics on streaming have not yet been confirmed. Due to how Netflix typically announces new anime, announcements will likely take place 3–4 months prior to the release, which means fans may still have to wait some time for more information regarding the second season.

Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 Expected Cast

No information about any changes in the cast has been made public. Current projections are that the original voice cast from Season 1 of the anime series will be reprising their roles for Season 2; this includes the original Japanese voice actors of the following characters: Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck, and Senshi (the group of adventurers most integral to the story told through dungeon crawling in Season 1).

The original English voice cast (who contributed greatly to the show’s servicing across all regions via Netflix) is expected to return as well for Season 2. However, it is common for official announcements regarding English voice actors to come out closer to the release date of Season 2.

While supporting characters from Season 1 (e.g., Kabru or any of the other characters associated with rival groups of adventurers) will have larger roles throughout Season 2, no new castings have been announced at this time.

Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 Potential Plot

The new season is likely to be a direct continuation of the first season’s cliffhanger and will continue adapting Ryoko Kui’s completed manga series Dungeon Meshi.

The previous anime season adapted the first half of the story, covering the setup for the rescue mission, explaining the dungeon ecosystem, as well as the monster survival morality.

The second season will likely feature many more deep dungeon layers and far more dangerous monsters, as well as more complex and intriguing recipes than the previous season, in addition to a shift towards dark narrative themes. The darker narrative themes will probably highlight obsession, ancient magic, curses, and the after-effects of choices made to survive, especially as rival groups and hidden forces from the past become more involved in the events of the series.

The manga has already been completed, and there is more than enough source material for the second season to either lead to the conclusion of the storyline or produce a final production for the series, depending on how the adaptation is handled.
