Democrats’ ‘peace’ proposal did not survive, Trump got a ‘licence’ to wage war in the US Senate!

Opposition Democrats introduced a resolution in the upper house of the US legislature against Donald Trump’s military campaign in Iran. However, the Republicans and Trump won the polls. The vote was 47 in favor of the proposal, 53 against. In other words, after winning only 6 votes, the US President got a ‘licence’ to continue the war against Iran. After that, Trump claimed that America is now in a strong position in the war in West Asia. He praised the army of the country. Trump gave his army a 15 out of 10.

It would be wrong to think that ordinary US citizens are warmongers. A recent survey found that three out of four ordinary citizens disapprove of the US president’s Iran policy. Not only that, many of Trump’s own party, the Republican Party, cannot accept the decision to attack Iran. In this situation, Democrats complain, Trump continues to fight with different arguments every day, avoiding Congress. Almost all of the Senate’s Democrats voted for the (anti-war) resolution. Members of Trump’s Republican Party voted against. As a result, Trump won by 47-53 votes. But several Republicans said they would consider alternatives if the war dragged on.

A recent survey found that three out of four ordinary citizens disapprove of the US president’s Iran policy.

Note that America and Israel jointly attacked Iran last Saturday. Several top leaders, including Iran’s supreme religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, died in that attack. A survey was conducted by the US news agency Reuters. The online survey was conducted till Sunday. 1,282 people from different parts of America participated. It found that only 27 percent of the participants supported the US decision to attack Iran. And 43 percent voted against. And 30 percent were silent.

However, Trump has expressed confidence in getting the approval to continue the war in the Senate. He praised the US military. “We’re doing a good job on the battlefield. Some people are saying how much do you give in 10? I’m saying it’s like 15,” he said at the White House on Wednesday.
